These pictures are from the beginning of our trip to Michigan 2 weeks ago. I can't tell you the number of times I heard, "Are we there yet?". I'm convinced it must be a kid thing to ask every 5 minutes even though they know the answer. What was supposed to be an 8 hour drive turned into a 12 hour drive because a truck spilled hazardous waste onto the highway. Thankfully I had packed a bucket full of toys and all of our kid dvds.
Reagan took 2 naps which helped the time pass for her. The last 4 hours were brutal though trying to keep her entertained.
Ruthie took one cat nap and then woke up asking, "Are we there yet?" NOOO!! It was painful I tell you, painful.
We were headed to Michigan to visit my Grandpa and to see my favorite cousin Marcie!! I wish I had a picture of the 2 of us from back in the day, but we were close as young kids and we're still close as adults.
This is Marcie's son Mason with Ruthie. That day they were pretending to be husband and wife. It was funny to hear Ruthie yell, "Husband! Husband!!"
Marcie also has a daughter named Mikalynn. She is one month younger than Reagan. True to Reagan fashion, she was hesitant of this new person her size. Do you see her leaning back?
Mikalynn was full of hugs and kisses and Reagan wasn't really interested.
Eventually they did play together and we all took a trip to Traverse City for some shopping.
After shopping my Aunt Cindy took us to an icecream shop called Moo-something. I can't remember if it was Moomers, Moomies... This shop has it's own farm with cows that they use to make the freshest, creamiest icecream I've ever had.
The girls loved watching the cows.
What do you think of the rose hairbands in the girl's hair? I bought them at a shop in Traverse City called Sweet Pea. It was a baby boutique that had the cutest stuff.
Later that day we went to my cousin Becky's house to visit. She has 8 kids!!! They also have a lot of land so Ru and I went for a ride on their ATV.
I've got more pictures to share but Reagan has just filled the basement with a "fragrant" smell. I think it's time for a diaper change!!
