I don't know about you, but the summer is flying by for me! It's hard to believe it's the middle of July. The beginning of the week started off with Ruthie's return from Michigan. She spent the week with my parents visiting the Brant side of the family. She had fun catching frogs,
swimming in my Grandpa's pool,
and playing in the sand at Fremont Lake.
We missed her like crazy and were happy to have her back. Ruthie was able to visit with Jackson and Kristin a little bit before they left on Wednesday. In the mean time, I was studying for a nursing exam missing out on time with my girls and Jackson and Kristin. I do feel like I've been given a second wind with school knowing that I only have 2 quarters left. I'm actually filling out my petition to graduate this week. Woohoo!
On Friday we were able to go to Zoombezi Bay as a family. Ruthie has gotten so much braver in the water and Reagan was born to swim. That girl is fearless in the water. Picture this...we are floating on the lazy river in a double tube. I'm on one end, Ruthie's on the other with a life vest on, gripping the handles with her full body on top of the tube. She's not even touching the water. (the fact that Ru is even on the Lazy River is a huge accomplishment) Reagan on the other hand was hanging onto a handle with her body IN THE WATER! Yes, she did not want to sit on my lap but wanted to be in the water. I told Brendan this could be seen as child abuse. An 18 month old hanging off a raft?! Who does that?? It's either cry, forcing her to sit on my lap, or smiles as she hangs on the raft floating in the water. Brendan was right by her side in case she decided to let go though.
Ruthie had Vacation Bible School this week as well. She loved it! Last night they had a cook out and sang songs for us.
Reagan had fun running around with the other kids. She even danced when they were singing the songs.
This past week has also been filled with car trouble. My car is on it's last legs. We have known that my exhaust system was hanging by a thread, but it finally broke. We had to have our mechanic attach it back to my car and a muffler guy put a j-tube on it so the exhaust blows on the ground and not in the direction of my gas tank. Lord have mercy! We looked at this mini van last week and have committed to buy it. We just have to wait till the first of August when the people move. We are praying my car makes it another couple of weeks!
