We just got back from my parent's house today. We celebrated Christmas and Reagan's birthday. Pictures will be coming soon. I haven't had a chance to work on that post yet.
The best memory I have from these past few days was taking Reagan to the movies. YES! You may think I'm crazy for taking a one year old to see Alvin & the Chipmunks, but things couldn't have gone better. I'm sure the people sitting in their seats watching me coming in carrying an infant carseat were wishing they had gone to the later showing. I just kept Reagan strapped in her carseat and placed her in her own seat facing the movie. She loved it!! The girl just sucked on her paci and played with her giraffe while she watched the movie.
Now, I'm not advocating taking your little one to the movies, but I had no one to watch Reagan. My mom, Haley and Ruthie were with me and my dad was at work. After about an hour in the carseat, Reagan started wiggling around so I got her out and gave her a snack. My mom took her for a bit and then the movie was over. I couldn't believe she had done so well. My dad gave me ten minutes before he thought I'd have to walk out of the theatre and Brendan said, "Good luck with that!" He didn't think Reagan would last either. I tried to take a picture but of course the theatre was too dark. She looked so darn cute sitting there watching the movie.
On another note, I'm really looking forward to 2010. This time last year I was snuggling with a newborn babe hoping that I would get into nursing school. My how this year has flown!
I have a lot of goals for this year. Probably too many. I thought about listing them all, but really, the most important one is submitting everything to the Lord. Just seeing what the Lord has done this past year in orchestrating school/daycare/work has been humbling. When things are done in the Lord's timing, there's a lot less pressure on me to make things "work". I really like being in the place where the Lord is leading the way!!
Well, I'm off to play games with my BIL, SIL, our friend Brian and my hubby. I hope you're doing something fun and exciting this New Year's Eve!
Happy new year to you too! Glad you have had such a great year. Love the story about the movies too! Can't wait to hang out in 2010 together. Miss you!
