Weekend Retreat

This post has been long overdue. I have been busy cleaning and Christmas shopping since school was over. I have a list of things I want to get done! On that list includes spending time with my girls. :)

But lets get back to this past weekend! My dear friend Sara had us over to her new house for a weekend retreat. Yes, that's right. I got to spend Friday and Saturday with my Spirit Sisters!

We all arrived early Friday afternoon. We literally spent all of our time talking!! Here is a picture of us on Sara's couch. Her wonderful husband took the picture.

Sara made an amazing dinner & dessert. Before we knew it, we had been sitting at the dinner table for over 2 1/2 hours! We had a great time trying to figure out how the Lord had brought all of us together.

We all come from different backgrounds and are at different stages in life. One of the girls is dating, some of the girls are married, one of the girls is pregnant, one of the girls has kids, some of us are outspoken, some of us are more reserved, all of us are back in school!

Our common ground is a desire to grow in our relationship with Jesus.

We were laughing b/c we know the deep stuff about each other, but ask one of us what someone's favorite color is, we might not know!

We stayed up till almost midnight and then we were up again by 8am. Mainly b/c some of the girls had a hard time sleeping. We started out sharing sleeping quarters, but by morning Sara was sleeping in a chair, Rachel was on the futon, Peggy was in a bed, Kristie was on the couch, and I was in another bed. LOL

We had a wonderful breakfast and then spent some sweet time in prayer for each other.

That's really what I love most when all of us get together. The Lord shows up powerfully. We actually lost track of time while we were praying. Next thing we knew it was almost 1pm and we all had to go.

Time goes by fast when you're having fun!! I hope we can make this a yearly tradition. I almost forgot. We also did our annual ornament exchange too. I'm blessed to have these girls in my life. :)
