Famolee Fun Night

We had a great weekend!

I'll write more later about the women's conference I went to on Friday.  For now, all I can say is, "It was amazing!"

The girls and I went to a family home group for the first time on Saturday morning.  Brendan had to work or else he would have gone with us.  The couples rotate watching the kids that come so that the parents can participate in the bible study.  Ruthie had a great time.  Reagan lasted about an hour and then she wanted her mommy.  I met some really nice couples that will hopefully turn into some great friendships.

Afterwards, the girls and I had lunch with my Spirit Sisters.  Then we met up with Brendan to swim at the Westerville Rec Center.  About once a month they have Family (or as Ruthie says, "famolee") Fun Night.  You can swim, use the rock climbing wall, play in the game room, etc. all for $5/person.

We put our swimsuits on our bright white bodies {Scary image I know! My skin hasn't seen the sun in months.} and joined the other Ohioans who are dreaming of warmer weather. I think I was more excited that we got to use the towels my parents had personalized for us than the fact that we were actually going swimming.

I was hoping to get some cute pictures of the girls in their matching swimsuits, but it was so humid in there that the camera lens started fogging up immediately.  I was able to snap one quick blurry picture of Reagan before she ran off and the lens fogged over.

Oh well.  We all had a great time.  Ruthie is still a little timid in the water, but Reagan is a go getter.  She let me float her on her back around the pool.  She loved it!

I loved feeling like a family.  I used to daydream all the time about "famolee" fun nights I would want to do someday with my kids.  Now, I am actually making those dreams a reality.
