On The Road Again

Well, we made it home from Illinois and then jumped back in the car and headed to Fairfield.  I'm trying to make the most of my spring break!  I'm still waiting for some pictures from this past weekend so I can't tell you about the fun we had just yet.

So, in the mean time I'll tell you what we've been doing at my parent's house.  Ruthie and Haley made Grassapillars today.

In a couple of weeks, flowers should start growing that we can plant in the yard later this spring.

Meet Star.  This is Haley's new chihuahua.  I am in love with her!  She is super sweet and loves to snuggle.  She has taken quite a liking to Reagan.  The feelings are not mutual.  Reagan would prefer to not have a small dog nipping at her heels!

I have been going through my Grandma Gale's recipe box.  I was super close to my Grandma.  She is the one that Ruthie is named after.  She died 2 years ago and just a couple of weeks ago, as my mom was going through some of Dora's boxes, she found her recipes.

This box has become a sweet treasure to me.  Seeing my Grandma's handwriting makes me feel close to her again.  All the sweet memories I have of her come flooding back.  Ohhh, how I miss her!

Going through the box makes me laugh because I have a sweet tooth just like my Grandma did.  That was one of the reasons why I loved going to her house.  She always had ice cream in the freezer and a kitchen drawer devoted just to candy.  A woman after my own heart!!  Over half of the recipes are desserts.

Tomorrow, the girls and I are headed to lunch with a friend I went to high school with.  Good night!
