Busy Bee

Things have been busy around here.  My weeks go by so quickly.  This week is the 5th week of classes for me!  That means I'm halfway through my 3rd quarter of nursing school.  I can't believe it!!  This time next year I'll be 5 weeks away from graduation.  Now lets just hope I'll have a job lined up at that time as well.

Something exciting that happened this week was I got invited to a "Fireside Chat with the President".  Yes, the president of COTC!  Definitely a perk of going to a smaller school.  I was "part of a select group of students" chosen to attend.  Not sure how I got on the list.  I've tried finding out only to be told, "John Berry gave us your name."  He's the director of student affairs.  I must say the president was so gracious and kind.  Not really what I was expecting.  I kind of thought being in such a high position there might be some arrogance.  I was completely wrong.  She is very humble and takes her job seriously.  Serious in a good way though.  She is committed to constantly improving the college.  She hosts these fireside chats in her home a couple of times a year so she can hear from current students about their likes and dislikes.  Now whether some of our suggestions actually come to fruition is a whole other thing, but I'm really impressed with the fact that this woman has a desire to hear from the students.  I found her simply delightful!

Friday, Reagan and I went up to Cuyahoga Falls to visit Melissa and Eleanor.  Eleanor will be one years old tomorrow!!  I totally forgot to snap a picture of the two of them together.  I even took my camera up there with me.  I wanted to do a post with pics from their first playdate a year ago and their playdate yesterday.  We'll be meeting up with them again at AHA in a couple of weeks so I'll make sure to take a picture then.

Today I had lunch with a dear friend of mine while Brendan stayed home with the girls.  We went to the Cheesecake Factory and left there stuffed!!  We used to be nannies together and basically spent almost every weekday doing something together with the kids.  Now we are only able to see each other every couple of weeks and usually without kids.   I enjoy being able to catch up without being interrupted or speaking in code.

The girls have been doing well.  I have discovered that Reagan may be my little fashionista.  I cannot keep that girl out of her shoe bin!  She loves playing with her shoes and her hair brushes and her clothes.  The only reason why this sticks out for me is b/c Ruthie never played with her clothes or shoes.  She had no interest.  She didn't/doesn't really play with dress up clothes either.  Now lets just hope that both girls will continue to not mind me dressing them alike.  Just wait till you see what I got them for Valentine's Day!!

Well, Brendan is making sushi for dinner tonight.  Mmmmmm....sushi!  Tomorrow we are headed to Easton to spend the day with my mom and my brother's girlfriend Lisa.  Lets hope we don't freeze our buns off!!
