Five Days Old

I think it would be fun to do a post titled:  You Know You're A Mom When...

Since I don't have time to come up with an extensive list, I thought I would share a "mom moment" I had this past week.

Have any of you heard of the Laurie Berkner Band?

Rocketship Run

Love her!  She makes music that is popular with children and can be found on Nick Jr. in between cartoons.  Ruthie really likes her music so I decided to download her album from itunes.

My favorite song, "Five Days Old".

Here are some of the lyrics:

I'm sittin here I'm one day old
I'm sittin here I'm two days old
I'm sittin here I'm three days old
I'm sittin here I'm four days old

one day I'll be a year
then I'll be two, then three, then four.
but as for now I'm sittin here
and I'm five days old and no days more.

The song is of course longer having the children jumping, kicking their legs, clapping their hands, etc.  I've heard this song numerous times on tv, but for some reason while I was driving the girls home from daycare Tuesday, I started tearing up when it came to the chorus.

WHAT?!  Only a mom would start crying at a song made for children that is upbeat & fun all b/c the lyrics start talking about children growing up.

Nooooo, not my girls!  Sometimes it does seem like just days ago Ruthie was 2 years old and just days ago Reagan was a newborn.  Now, I have a 1 year old and a 4 year old.  I love watching my girls grow up and learn about life, but sometimes my days, weeks, and months go by so fast that I feel like I'm missing out on things.

This song just reminded me how fast life is going.

Well, we are headed to Fairfield tomorrow to visit with my parents.  I should have some fun pictures from the weekend!
