We had a lot of fun today! While Brendan and I were getting ready to head to Savannah, Ruthie read books to Reagan. She is such a great big Sissy.
I only had 2 reasons for wanting to go to Savannah today. 1) Paula Deen's restaurant The Lady & Son's. 2) Visiting The Wilkes House.
We had lunch at The Lady & Son's. I had my first southern style sweet tea. Oh my goodness was it good!!! Puts the stuff we get in Ohio to shame.
Ruthie enjoyed eating a southern potato thingy. I forget what they call it, but it was fried yumminess!
Reagan wouldn't touch a thing at the restaurant except the hoe cake and black beans.
Next to the Paula Deen store they have a life-size cut out of her. It's a great photo opportunity. Ruthie knows who Paula Deen is because we've seen her on tv. Ruthie kept asking if she was cooking for us today. Ummmm, no honey. She is what they call famous now.
Once we got back to the condo Reagan went down for a nap and Ruthie and I headed to the gazebo to take advantage of a craft the Marriott was hosting.
She painted her starfish a rainbow of colors.
I painted a sand dollar.
We didn't go to the beach today. We decided to just hang around the pool. The girls had fun playing ball with Brendan.
The girls took turns throwing the ball to B.
Eventually Reagan got tired of playing ball and decided that the adult pool needed some water from the kiddie pool.
She took bucket after bucket and dumped it in the big pool. Whatever keeps them entertained, right?!
Do you notice a common theme in the photos by the pool.....nobody else is around. We are the youngest people here at the Marriott this week. It's all old, retired people on vacation. It's really quite funny b/c the old people either make comments about how cute our girls are, or they move when they see us coming b/c they were hoping for a relaxing time by the pool. That's not going to happen with a 2 year old and 5 year old running around. Haha!!
And now to end with a funny picture. Reagan is our little swimmer. She may be afraid of the ocean, but she has no fear when it comes to the pool.
