Mother's Day started off with pancakes and eggs for breakfast. We then found a local non-denominational church to go to. It was a small church with a really funny pastor. We spoke to him before and after the service and he told us about his favorite pizza restaurant. The owner is from Columbus so everything is all about the buckeyes.
The pizza was fabulous!!
After lunch it was time for Reagan and I to take a nap. When we got up, we discovered that Brendan and Ruthie had caught a gecko.
Ruthie thought the little guy was so cute. He was only in the cup for a short while and then he was returned to his home outside.
The one thing that I wanted to do in HHI was rent bikes. Ruthie is still small enough to sit in the back seat. Score!! We didn't have to pay another arm and leg to get her a tandem bike.
While we ride the bikes Reagan is so quiet. I think she enjoys feeling the wind in her hair and looking at the scenery. We enjoy the few minutes of peace and quiet. Reagan's language skills have really exploded lately. While it's fun to hear her talk, Reagan only knows one level and that is LOUD!!!
After the bike ride we headed to the kiddie pool.
I asked Reagan if I could take her picture and she said, "Cheese!"
Brendan tried to teach Ruthie how to play chess.
Reagan had fun lining up the chess pieces and using them as her audience. Can you see that Reagan is using her normal (LOUD) voice here!
Next up, the ocean.
Ruthie went in about knee deep. Reagan stopped when the water hit her ankles.
As soon as the waves started coming to shore Reagan got scared and started calling for her mommy.
If the water started to get close to Reagan again she would back it up so quick. She did not know what to think of the waves.
While B and Ruthie played in the ocean, Reagan sat on my lap. Please excuse the runny nose. I was trying to get a cute picture of Reagan and I sitting on the beach and didn't realize she needed a tissue.
Ruthie and daddy.
Ruthie had fun using daddy as a shield from the incoming waves.
Daddy took a picture of Reagan and I before we headed back to the room. My mini-me!
So what do you do after taking a swim in the ocean, take a bath in the "pool tub" of course!! Ruthie calls it a pool because the tub is so big. We could all fit in there.
Goodnight folks!!
